The Giants started free agency off the right way starting Brandon Marshall to a two year $12 million deal. Marshall has 6 seasons of over 1,000 yards. Marshall will pair up with Odell Beckham Jr and Sterling Shepard will play in between them in the slot. The Giants also have Tavares King and Roger Lewis.
The Giants may have the best receiving core in football. It reminds me of the Arizona Cardinals when they had Larry Fitzgerald , Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston in 2009. All three receivers totaled over 1,000 yards that year and it’s possible that’s the case for the Giants this year. Brandon Marshall provides the height that the Giants lacked last season. Marshall has always been strong in the red zone. Marshall will also help draw some attention away from Beckham and Shepard.
The Giants offense is not complete , however it can be elite. They still need tight end help. Most importantly they need offensive line help. The Giants need to address those two needs next. If they address these needs they could have the best offense in football. The running back position has promise with Paul Perkins and Shane Vereen and it’s possible they add another piece after.
Brandon Marshall makes this the best receiving group Eli Manning has ever had. Manning will have no problem spreading the ball around. As great as the receiving core is the Giants need to get Manning protection. If Manning has that protection he lead Beckham , Marshall and Shepard to have great seasons. Last year Brandon Marshall struggled with the Jets but the year before that he had 14 touchdowns. The Giants will get him back to 2015 form. Brandon Marshall is now apart of the best receiving core in the NFL .
